I read the article and I think that the man who owned the helmet was a mercenary...

During that period Ionian Greeks and Carians were serving the Pharaos of Egypt. There are many remains, but not such a well preserved helmet like that.

Im pretty sure the Greeks were allowed to settle in Egypt it makes perfect sense that we would find something like this
