On Tuesday, more than 41,000 women and children attended Fenerbahce's match against Manisaspor in Istanbul.

The move followed violence during a Fenerbahce "friendly" in July.

The Istanbul side was initially told to play two home matches behind closed doors after fans invaded the pitch during a game with the Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk. But the Turkish authorities later softened their stance and decided to let women and children attend

Of course they can. And they can peacefully. That's why the federation wanted to give a lesson to Fenerbahce hooligans.

This is what caused the ban:

I'd say there was consternation every time there was an offside. Its their brains you see, its too small and delicate to understand something so sophisticated.

Nice to see so many women show support for their side and it was exciting to watch on TV. I don't think Besiktas or Galatasaray would have had the same amount of female interest. The match was secondary to the historical significance of the event. As for the game, give credit to Manisaspor. That squad took it to Fenerbahce soundly but only came out with a tie.

Doesn't look like Galatasaray will have a good season yet again Ouch. No Arda Turan is just insane, but can't fault him for leaving, nor can I understand why a world class midfielder like Misimovic was allowed to leave after less than a year at the club.

On the other hand, glad to see them try to show hooligans that they have to tone down.
