This thread is part Alternative History, part Ancient History/Human Development.

In Peru and other parts of the world, adult skulls have been found which were strangely elongated.

Scientists conjected that the skulls had been deliberately bound at an early age so that the skull deformation would increase as the person aged.

But their investigations had only focused on adult skulls. What they hadn't told us is that since 1863, there was evidence of elongated skulls, in Utero, that is, skulls of unborn children were found to have been elongated. This threw the previous findings out the window, but the findings weren't highly publicised as one would expect.

This leaves the untrained observer to the conclusion that there was a race of people with whom humans mixed, many millennia ago, who had elongated skulls.

Now, another point, for centuries humans have been depicting aliens as having strangely elongated skulls, in fact almost identical to the elongated skulls of Peru. Is this purely coincidence?

Is it possible that the many unexplained phenomena on earth can be in fact attributed to visiting aliens?

It seems that explanation is gaining more interest and may not be as much fiction as we've all been led to believe over the years.

I think it's a developmental abnormality.  The faces were too small but they were born with two brains probably as a prelude to conjoined twin birth scenario.  usually the mass would be absorbed into the stronger body.

LC, thanks. Do you have any science for your view?

The skulls were artificially elongated during childhood. Those ancient Peruvians saw this head shape as attractive. No space aliens. Sorry.

Mate, but a simple denial doesn't address the question of the misshapen skulls of unborn foetuses.

If an unborn baby at almost full term has an elongated skull, and the ones referred to do have them, that is not explained by binding or any other human intervention.

Or might simply be evidence for a divergent strain of humanity. Space Aliens still not called for.

Never say never. Around the next corner could lay clear evidence of the contrary. I'm learning to keep an open mind, and say, "Maybe, maybe not."

In this case, 'maybe not' is more likely to avoid future embrassement :D
