Hello!

I really hope posting the link of a project in which I am working as an illustrator and graphic designer, is not against any rules... I would understand if it is deleted for breaking some rule that I don't know. Embarrassed  Also... this is not a computer game, the cards are printed full color, like the boards, rules, etc. :)

I am only in charge of the graphic design of the cards and boards (not the game mechanics, nor the Kickstarter page, neither the video), as well as all the illustrations. About that, please, excuse the fact that only a few are colored: The final project will have of course everything fully finished, we are still in the crowdfunding campaign. All cards (and boards) are created already, is only pending the color of a bunch, but this is no problem at all.

It is not supposed to count on historic accuracy till certain levels, but to be solidly inspired in age of sail ship combats, the cannons of those times, uniforms, ships, flags, etc. But it is a family game, so, it will be very easy for you all to pick inaccuracies :) . The main purpose has been to make an entertaining game for all the family (and/or friends), heavily inspired in these ship fights between 1800 - 1815.

I am posting below thumbnail reductions of several cards and images. You can of course click on any of them, and a new tab will open with a fully detailed image, as at so small size (printed they really looks great, these are poker size cards, we have tested this quite) is not that impressive (so, I highly recommend to see them bigger :) . I just did not want to occupy too much space in the post.  )

In case you feel in the mood, feel free to check the project page, the campaign ends pretty soon, in just 3 days ! :)

Cheers,

I am not interested in trying it out, but on the abstract level, it does sound interesting, I used to work in a game store (It's Your Move, Denver area), so I am familiar with various board games and card games, etc.  The moderator may decide your leaning too far into solicitation, but as far as I am concerned, glad to hear about it.

Thank you very much for your feedback, Franciscosan, it is really appreciated. :)
My experience comes more indeed from working at video game studios, and as a general graphic designer at other companies. I actually used to spend mountains of time at a little shop (the owner and employees were very good friends) dedicated to selling rol games, board games, miniatures and all that stuff, back in my college years. But I am not as versed in card or board games as my colleague in this project. Chris is the one really knowing his way with game mechanics and all that stuff (and this specific theme is a passion for him: tall ships from those years. )

A special thanks to the whole community, too, for allowing us to let you know about our project.  :)

Cheers,
