Would you say that American air power was effective in the years 1941-1945 (WW2). I suppose effective should be defined as able to accomplish its goals and further the war effort. Can anyone help me by giving me specific examples? I have so many contradictory sources of information I hardly know what to believe anymore.

Thanks

WW2 didn't start in 1941.

For some Americans the war began then and it was only them and that pesky Monty who defeated the Germans. And only them who fought the Japanese.

I think he was refering to the period of WWII where the US was directly involved and in theaters where they fought.

There were at least a couple of heavy, slow, radar-detectable aircraft that made a rather major contribution to ending the war. They also seem rather to have put the lie to statements that heavy bombing couldn't by 1945 force an enemy to surrender.
