Alright users the time for your input is now

NOW.... Nuke

With April coming to a close the editors for our magazine would like to know who do you think was the best member this month..

Things you should think about..

1. A user that started interesting discussions or brought into something that got the forum's interest
2. A user that tipped the balance in some discussions and gave in depth points, and not just one sentence opinion statements
3 Mind you past legacy, prestige of this member should really not be taken into account,  so what if he was the cat daddy or the trouble maker last year or even last month what matters is how he has been doing in April

APRIL... Nuke Stern Smile

But please above all dont celebrate yourself or attack another member.. this thread is not the place for internet brawling there are plenty of places like Facebook and YouTube for that.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS

If you take part you will get a gold star -I promise

I nominate Penguin. He takes on all comers who think he is an easy target, and find out different. His knowledge of history is wide ranging, always educational, and entertaining. Lets hear it for Penguin.

Lol. That was entertaining. I'm going to be obvious and put my X behind Zagros. Mainly because he thinks the exact opposite of what you just posted.

I'm not sure your reasoning in voting for Zagros is what will be considered meritorious. Penguin is a valuable asset to our community (as is Zagros)

Cheers mi amigo.

My vote is for Northman, for injecting a measure of pragmatism, humanity, and common sense into recent discussions. One example is his suggestion in one thread regarding guns, that it would be better to talk to those who want to break into houses than to shoot first.

I'll go with Al Jassas on this one.

I'm going with Buckskins. Despite going a little bit too far on a couple of occassions I generally find his posts really entertaining. He doesn't have the same stock-standard opinion about everything and that makes him worth listening too.

pinguin's knowledge of history outside the Americas (indeed outside Latin America) is non-existent. Moreov er he has no idea of how or what history is taught in the world in general. This wouldn't matter if he wasn't opinionated about it.

As a choice I'm happy with Northman, but if there was a post of the month I'd nominate Frederic Roger's post on Henry the Navigator, which showed the kind of expertise that attracts me here. Still while the post was excellent, Frederic is sadly not here enough to qualify for a Forumer award.

This is an arrogant insult, that hurts. Specially comming from a moderator, who is thought to be an educated and balanced person.

You have called me ignorant, forgeting the fact I have shown you wrong in several times.

Anyways. You resorted to cheap tricks rather than arguments. That's human nature I guess.

Let me make it clear that this is a thread where you may advocate for a forum member of your choice. It is not a place for anyone to mud sling others or dispute their candidacy. If you have an axe to grind or have nothing nice to say, take it elsewhere.

Let's go back to participating in this thread in the spirit it was begun for. Beer

I pick Al Jassas. I like his spirit and will to stand his ground until he is proven wrong, which is often.

Damned by feigned praise, gotta love it!

My vote also goes to Al Jassas, very broad spectrum of interest and expertise and has that real thirst for knowledge every person on the planet could do with.

Whilst I'm feeling warm and fuzzy I should also officially commend gcle's writing style. His cadence is as much a pleasure as his content, even when filtered through lazy green eyes Tongue

Official duties excepted of course.

I didn't mean it as a slight Panther, maybe a re-wording to 'genuine commendation tempered by point of qualification' would have saved confusion, but it just doesn't have the same *snap, you know? Smile

So, who was the April winner? I hope they are not counting the May votes as part of the April tally?
