okay I am really going out on a limb here, but I don't want to suspend what I am working on any longer. I do not know if there are ANY people involved in "legal history" on here but here goes nothing....

Try to suspend your opinions on historical fiction for just a moment, in time to read my question. I am writing a story. My main character is a judge. The story takes place in 1944-1950 and from 1966-1969, but the major part right now is 1944-1950. I am wondering if ANYONE has any idea about how much personal security the President of the Cour de Cassation (highest French court) would have at that point in history. Not just during public events, where I assume there would be the top level for the 1940s but I mean in everyday life. Would a judge have security at their home - as in would that be the norm? What forms do you think they would have? I am leaving the question open so as not to make assumptions.

I hope this does not break any of the rules in the Code of Conduct. I have been trying very hard to find another forum where I could ask this question without disturbing the important work of officials but I thought this History forum the best place to throw my question to the wind.

This is fiction obviously and I do not want ANY information about contemporary security levels, but it does have consequences for the narrative. I would really like to find this out without having to bother an official. I know this seems trite but I would really like to as accurate as possible to the period. I have been trying to find it in searches but obviously it is a difficult thing to find.
If you could even direct me to a place where I could find this information I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you, World Historia community
