I hereby resolve not to stick with any resolution that i am forced into and only follow the easy ones!Big smile

Therefore, I shall....

- keep eating fatty, unhealthy, artery clogging foods
- keep on smoking
- keep on being obnoxiously opinionated
- keep on having a horrible memory
- continue ignoring sound advice
- continue making a fool of myself from time to time
- always keep the expectations for myself low

Anyone else have any new year's resolution they plan to follow or ignore entirely?

Yep same story here, tis the season. I am dreading the laps of the botanic gardens I will need to do to work it all off.

Quote keep on being obnoxiously opinionated

Life is too quiet and boring otherwise.

Quote keep on having a horrible memory

I don't suffer from  horrible memory, I benefit from having a selective one Smile

Quote continue ignoring sound advice

Good idea. Better to ignore sound advice and instead take great advice.

Quote continue making a fool of myself from time to time

Ah if you could have seen what I got up to on New Years...

I'm not going to refrain from battering my boss if he provokes me again.

I promise never to take less than an hour in the bath every morning.

Ditto! To that...few people know the extreme time-consuming care required for the proper maintenance of facial hair! Then there's the necessary time for the proper humidifying of the epidermis, not least of all the feet, where extra care must be exercised. Proper drying time is also essential to prevent the opportunistic fungi. The careful administration of body unguents and lotions are also a must (e.g. Vitamin A & D ointment for the feet followed by snug soft yet thick socks are a winter requirement). Even if one showers instead of soaks, proper ministrations should never be dismissed for the sake of less essential things such as appointments or conferences. Less than an hour "at bath"...perish the thought unless one desires to promote a vagabond imagery.Wink

Probably two of the last people on here I would have called out as metrosexuals...  You should hang your heads in shame.

Metrosexuals! Nous! Bite your tongue Zagros...the joys of enjoying the most utilitarian part of one's domicile is naught but an extension of the old Roman principles that made the Public Baths the centers of civic life!Big smile Nothing is more soothing or productive to intellectual life than a healthy body, and this latter ideal demands that it be a clean body! Besides Metrosexuals abhorr beards and other signs of body hair, and unless one wants to go around resembling Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, defiinite care must be taken of the hirsute decor on jaws and upper lips. Besides, in the hurly-burly of modern life nothing provides proper respite than a setting such as the one below:

The Graham Norton show? Na, Match of the Day, me. Watching that clip though, I have to say, Katy Price should be put to sleep... for the sake of society.  Perhaps she could commit suicide as the ultimate act of charity for our nation;  The amount of teenage benefit urchin pregnancies she must have inspired.

As for me... I don't use any product except shampoo, soap, aftershave and antiperspirant - none of this girly/metro lotion potion business.    Nothing wrong with bathing however, so long as you stay away from the purported ancillaries and you'll regain my respect.

Purported ancillaries? My dear Zagros once you pass your 60s, the so-called ancillaries are essentials, essentials that is if you do not want to resemble some old crone in a Shakespearean production! I am not talking botox or any of that other stuff but the stuff needed for good skin health! Were it not so then the government would not be footing the bill under the Medicare health program! Yup, it's the stuff podiatrists and dermatologist dispense to all of us "pensioners of the state" so as to keep us healthy and badgering the dickens out of pestering upstarts that had best keep working so as to maintain us in the life-style we believe our just rewards and to which we have become accustomed!Cool We are the generation that defined prosperity and we are not about to let go of the helm that guides the ship-of-state!

I wasn't going to bother doing a resolution at first but I eventually decided I'll do one and just one, and that is to cut back on my alcohol consumption. Of course with that my eating of fatty fast food and smoking will also be cut right back cause it is when I go out on the town that I get into those two the most.

Equal felicitations to you as well Zagros and to all as well...as for my resolve, well it usually runs along the lines of less grumpiness and a greater tolerance toward the stubborn, as well as the usual banality of being kind to animals and even penguins! Yeah, right!Angry

I'm a dietitians and GP's dream candidate. My goal is not too live long enough to become a financial or physical burden unto others (though psychological is another matter!Big smile), nor to let my family stick me into some nursing home once i am incapacitated.

I have actually noticed the effort, though the year is young and our dear bird is always game. However, i believe the fish is spoiled and stubbornly refuses to let anyone get in his way of a good propagandizing.Wink

Happy new year all!
