Here you can ask for help.
- but I dont know where the any-key is. Confused

We will try to offer help with the forum or general IT / computer issues you may have .....
Also - if you have a special request for a new custom avatar, we can try to help.
All this within reasonable limits of course   Tongue

It is mesmerizing. That flame? I could stare at nearly all day without knowing it.  Is that your secret plan for taking over the forum? Diabolical attempt at mind control, it is. Uh-ahem... that is, whoever thought it up? Wink

And I can't make a new topic.

Hi Peshmerge partisan  Welcome to World Historia. My guess on why you are having trouble is that you are attempting to post to a thread that is in a section that you do not have enough clearance for yet. Current Affairs threads are a 50 post minimum to post in.

Thank you for having me here. Yes I tried to write something about Syria on 'Current Affairs' section. I guess I have to wait, didn't know about boundary of 50 messages. Thank you again and this is a great site that I'm following for a few months. And now I want to participate.

Ok, I have a slight problem with my personal message at the bottom of all of my post. The Character limit is 200, and I tried to finish the last 3 words (these words: under new winds), and the character said that there are 160 characters (granted, I changed it from pinyin to traditional characters, and that may have messed it up), but when I retype the last 3 words in the translation, they get cut off. Any ideas?

Hmmm... Maybe if you left off the dash before the authors name, and the date (1948) the word (Trans.)  to read:

Quote
(Chinese Characters) Wei Jia Hong No harm in wealth, but a good thing doesn't last forever. I live only among peace under new winds

And then see if it will fit?

You don't have to trouble yourself in writing it down. Sometimes when a signature is long you just have to tweak it to make it fit. Incidentally, it might help to italicize (or set in bold) the author's name as a sort of marker.

No reason for alarm.
Sometimes a temp error can occur - just like it can anywhere on the net.

There can be dozens of reasons for a "hick-up" like that and it is annoying in particular if you have written a novel which go up in thin air.

It's a good idea to write your lengthy posts in Notepad before copying the content on the forum.

I have couple of questions.  If you post topics in other forums should you avoid duplicating them here?  For example I posted this story in another history forum that other members may visit.

Bubonic plague was a serial visitor in European Middle Ages

"Black Death may have been a repeat guest in medieval Europe, not a resident. Outbreaks of the plague that killed millions of people were triggered by spurts of warm weather a continent away, researchers suggest online February 23 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences."

https://www.sciencenews.org/article/bubonic-plague-was-serial-visitor-european-middle-ages

If the answer is it's ok to duplicate post from other forums what sub forum would this article be placed in?

I am sure I aint the first person to ask this question on this forum, but I can't find the Ignore list in the Control panel. There is the Buddy list only I can see.

The Ignore list makes things easier when one is fed up with someone's nonsense, so one doesn't need to memorize the nickname of the blacklisted poster..

It'd be also nice if there were also SPOILER-/SPOILER, OFFTOP-/OFFTOP tags, so it'd be easier to hide certain insertions and advise discretion of viewers, esp. when insertions are borrowed from popular movies of famous directors

We have our own method for reminding people that they've strayed off topic, and it's working very well thank you.

If you aren't happy with the facilities that our forum provides you could always look elsewhere.

And if you do find  group with all the extra help to streamline the experience, then messages have to be approved over a three day wait, same for private messages.
I don't have the patience for higher quality experience.

It would also be nice to have the option of removing <Multiple files at once> from <File Manager> of <Member Control Panel> (see attached picture) Wink Otherwise the only way of cleaning the whole file space is by removing the files one by one

I submitted a support ticket to Web Wiz, they usually respond quickly. I will let you know what they say Novosedoff.
