Muslim bandits gave Mahammad 20% of their booty. How much did Christian bandits give to the church?

I teach history to children, and I am proud that they leave my classes permeated with sh*t and hatred to meet the real world.
I see my personal historic mission in bringing madness to juvenile masses. |

Traditionally, Christians are supposed to tithe 10% of their income, I don't know if that is from Christian sources, or ultimately from a Jewish source. I would think that priests and monks might have some compunction about receiving stolen merchandise, or for that matter for some, violating oaths of poverty (which would depend on which order, and when).
The monasteries and churches were the rich places that vikings were usually pillaging. There is sufi master story where a sufi master was robbed by bandits, he gave his books to the bandit king and told him to find a master to give the books to, and to put his children in his tutelage so they wouldn't become bandits themselves

Well, if we're discussing crusaders, the warrior ethic and christian abhorrence of bloodshed were opposing ideas in an era when fighting was a part of politics. The thing is, when Emperor Alexius sent Pope Urban II a letter asking for military assistance against the Turks, he did not expect to rouse the very ambitious Pope from his empire building in western Europe. At Clermont in 1095 Urban II called for Jerusalem to be freed from the Turks (who weren't a problem there). Two things from his speech are important. Firstly, he proclaimed that anyone who went on this holy authorised mission were effectively doing penance for sin, and secondly, that killing heathens was a lesser sin anyway.
As you might well be aware, the First Crusade argued amongst themselves. They committed pogroms against Jews they encountered on the way (one over the price of a pair of new shoes). They weren't fussy about who they slaughtered when Jerusalem fell to them in 1099. It does seem to be human nature that soldiers will loot. The crusaders made off with what they found, and for that matter, set up a number of minor states run for their own benefit. But we also have to consider the monastic fighting orders, especially the Hospitallers and Templars, both of whom expanded in numbers, wealth, and influence via participation in Outremer doing God's work as soldiers, this time protecting pilgrims. But bandits? Imagining them gifting some of their ill gotten gains to the church is a little hard.
