Humayun the son of Babur and father of Akbar lost the majority of Babur's conquests early in his rule. Do you think that the major cause of the loss of territory was Humayun's inability or the skill of Sher Shah Khan [Suri], his main adversary?

After Sher Shah's death Humayun recovered the lost territory with the help of the Shah of Persia, however at the time Sher Shah Khan's successors were quarrelling between themselves

The defeat was due to mistakes made during the campaigh, giving battle at inoppurtune moments etc.  Not because Sher Shah was superior.
