Just wanted to say Hi.  I have always been interested in history and politics; my interest is mostly in US history, but lately I have become more interested global history as well.  I keep up with politics but only so I can put events into context.  With career and family (I have another child now who is four), it is hard to keep up with current events and I have very little time to read now.  And maybe I can contribute to the discussions as well.

Hello my name is Katze Weiss and I became very interested in ww2 when I read The Book Thief by Markus Zusak 8th grade, and ever since I have read many books about Nazi Germany, biographies about nazis, and holocaust survival stories. I hope I can fit in here!

Here goes. I am what most woujd consider different. I was born in Baghdad,Iraq in 1960 to an Iraqi father and American mother from allplaces, the hills of Southeast Tennessee. Half hillbilly half Iraqi. lived in the US since I was 4 mostly in southeast Tennessee; however, I am a bit of a vagabond and have traveled extensively and lived in other parts of the country.
I enjoy discussions of history, politics,culture and many other subjects.

cool.

I have a master's in philosophy and unlike Kubba, I am a homebody, really just staying in the Denver area.  Anxiety and other problems keep me from most travels.  My concentration is on antiquity, although I have a background in 20th c. philosophy as well.  I focus most of all on Pythagoras, presocratic philosophy (before Socrates), the Archaic Greek world, and ancient numismatics (coins).  Not that I don't have views on other matters.

Hello hello! The name's Ironhand Gotz, and I'm a big fan of history. Granted, I don't know very much about history, mind you, but I'm always willing to learn more. My username comes from an old German knight named Gotz von Berlichingen, who had this really sophisticated prosthetic hand that he could write and hold objects with. It's really nice to meet you all!
