Does anyone know much about King Burizleif, of Vindland, about 980 AD? He had three daughters: Gunnhild, Geira (who married Olav Tryggvason), and Astrid. As a king, what accomodations did he enjoy? What was his "palace" like? I ask because I'm writing a book about that region.

Interesting topic. I also wonder about it. I guess the kings in Scandinavia at the times of the Sagas lived in large wooden houses, rather than in stone castles, and they had a modest, but not poor, standard of living. However, I expect someone better informed than myself answers yours question.

According to the sagas, Olav Tryggvasson married the sister of Sven Forkbeard, who was previously  married to Borislev and not his daughter.
What kind of book are you writing? There are serioues issues with the genealogy and identity of these individuals. The Norse sources use Norse names, which especially for the women does not readily correspond to their Slavic names. Borislev/Burisleif can with little imagination be read as Boleslaw, but "Astrid" and "Gunhild" can hardly be derived from their original names.

Can't really help you with the domestic details, but "Vendland" is not in Scandinavia and Borislev was presumably the King of Poland so he might very well have live in a stone house ;)
