If you mean singers, one of them had at least 17 plastic surgeries to enhance her facial and a magazine found that all of them had plastic surgeries.

As for prevelance, it isn't prevalent. All the lebanese that I know, except one who is blond with blue eyes, can pass for a normal Saudi if they dress properly.

However since lebanon was the under the rule of Phoenecians (Kaananites), Egyptians, Assyrians, Persians, greeks, Romans, Arabs, Crusaders, Turks and finally French before independence, I think it is natural to find some remnants of these people in the lebanese genes.

Many of them are looking Armenoid but the most Lebanese here in my Town are Kurdish-Arabs from Mersin,Hatay...

Many of them have blue eyes. Maybe they are mixed with French people or English people.

I've known many Lebanese immigrants with Green and Hazel colored eyes. I presumed it was common back in Lebanon.  Perhaps some of that goes back to the Norman 'Franks' of the crusades. But then, Blue eyes are supposedly common among Circassians.

I know many Lebanese with blue eyes, but I don't know anything about genetics to answer your question.
Quote Many of them are looking Armenoid

Don't forget there are many Armenians in Lebanon too.

In my experience Lebanese, Palestinians and Syrians do seem to have a higher % of light features than any other Arab nationalities (I have never seen a fair southern Arab). IMO light features amongst 'Caucasians' developed in the northern ME and its general vicinity.

My best friend is Lebanese (although we both deny we are arab in any sense of the word) but she has hazel green eyes, and my mum who is obviously Egyptian also has hazel green eyes- does that count?

While most Egyptians are of coptic stock even if they were muslims most christian Lebanese are actually arabs ethnically while Sunni muslims are mostly Berber or Turkic. Lebanese do keep their genealogies quite well too and if you tell me her surname I can easily find out if your friend is an ethnic arab or not.

oh right. well neither of us are muslim, and I would tell you her last name but she actually changed it when she was younger so I don't know how relevant that would be. Nonetheless, the denial of being arab thing is just a joke- we're just happy to be considered muti-cultural Australians :)

In the context of Al Jassas and Eyggie's discussion, it would be a person patrilineality descendent from a native of the arabian peninsular.

hm. Omar I see your use of the name Eyggie is emerging outside of the mead hall...

yeh, I agree with Omar's interpretation of what Arab is.
Based on your interpretation then would that make me ethnically Arab, I'm not sure and how would I find out?
