King Edward I of England and his first wife, Queen Eleanor loved Leeds Castle in Kent and stayed there often.
When Edward I remarried in 1299, he gave the castle to his new wife, Margaret of France.
Richard II gave Leeds Castle to his wife, Anne of Bohemia.
Henry IV gave the castle to his second wife, Joan of Navarre. The couple stayed at Leeds Castle in 1403 to escape the plague in London.
