The Mughals were a true gunpowder empire, there dominance grew from their excellent artillery corps and trained musketmen.

Anyone have information on them, especially with respect to their decline after Aurengzebs death as illustrated so much in the battles against the Persians.

Indeed, the Mughals made good use of both gunpowder weapons and defensive fortifications designed to withstand their destructive power.  Are you interested in some book references?

I LIKE TO REFER THE BOOK "AURANGZEB ATTITUDES AND INCLINATIONS" BY REKHA JOSHI.
THE FOLLOWING LINES FROM THE BOOK MAY BE FOUND USEFUL.
HE (AURANGZEB) MET REACTION WITH REACTION HE MADE A BOLD ATTEMPT TO SET ASIDE THE EVIL DAY. WHEN WE COMAPRE IT WITH AKBAR'S POLICY, AURANGAZEB 'S RAJPUT POLICY WAS REACTIONARY. BUT IT CANNOT BE FORGOTTEN THAT AKBAR LIVED IN AN AGE OF LIBERALISM. THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH AURANGZEB WAS CALLED UPON TO WORK WAS PERMEATED WITH REACTION AND HE COULD NOT RISE ABOVE IT. ( THIS COULD PERHAPS PAVED WAY FOR THE DECLINE OF HIS EMPIRE)
