Lately they discovered an asteroid (cigarette shaped), that came into our solar system, whipped around the sun, and is heading back out, at a speed higher than escape velocity for the solar system.  It is named after a Hawaiian god, Oumaumau.  It was only by chance that the asteroid came in and triggered a telescope array set up to search for asteroids that may come near to Earth.

The asteroid came from the neighborhood of Vega.  I think it would be nice to hitch a ride on it like a flea on a dog, but undoubtedly it is going way too fast to hope on.  This is the first trans-solar large object to be found, but in a satellite collecting space dust, they have discovered a few particles that they think came from outside the system.  Also there are nodules in meteorites that came from beyond the system, and of course, meteorites are left over debris from the formation of the solar system.
