Sarah Palin is a media personality, not an "American leader."

Sarah Palin is a joke she'll never run for president and win, the republicans probably won't back her on anything; save the usual Newt Gingrich crowd. The democrats think shes a joke. She quit public office in Alaska to be on Fox News and a reality show about her family. Shes not a leader, she never was and mccain picked her cause shes a woman and barack obama is black. He wanted people to say oh a woman. Not the usual two old white guys running on that ticket. Its a war hero and a younger woman. which was a joke also.

Opinions? Sarah Palin is the Noam Chomsky of the right. Same techniques too. "I never said that..."

Wanna bet on that?

If Reagan ran for the mayor of Skokie, Illinois on the democratic ticket he would lose because he is a commie socialist left winger who negotiated with terrorists and cut and ran from Lebanon.

A well educated well read politically savvy right wing American citizen would consider Palin as a joke but that guy doesn't exist anymore. The dumbing of American citizens which has been going on for the past 20 years has succeeded to the point that Palin and co. are been taken seriously by the media and the people.

If any one has taken Palin seriously it is the "progressive Left!" Media.  Merely ignoring her would have done much more to make her insignificant!

Yeah you could say that the movie idiocrarcy is gonna be true one day and I know some people view as "smart" and "capable". She is taken seriously by the media cause the US has a trash culture of illusory celebrities. A celebrity is a reflection of a culture and most the time the people who deem somebody a celebrity is a guy in an office. Like think of Justin Beiber; all he is is like N Sync or Leif Garret from the 1970s and 80s. A media/corporate creation and a sh*tty one. Sarah palin and CO are famous cause of Fox News and the BS that they perpetuate. Think of Rush Limbaugh the guy has been saying the same stuff since he came into existence as a radio/political figures. Glenn Beck is a joke and even admitted and said "I'm like a radio clown" which I viewed him saying hes closer to Steven Colbert than an actual news man. Yet many people still buy into what these three clowns say. The whole birth thing about Obama was retarded. I remember meeting people who argued like their was no tomorrow that Barack Obama is a "muslim" and "isn't from america".

What's there to pick about poor Sarah? She's the smart bunny using the superficialities of politics in the grand theatre of the MSM to make moolah! The "rubber chicken" circuit at tens of thousands a pop is one thing but having a "name" constantly under lights multiplies income flow...besides the notion that Sarah is "running" brings cheer to the American Way and Move On crowd so it is they who also chime in about her "presidential aspirations". From my end, I do believe that Mama Grizzly has discovered a gold mine and intends to "work it" until it peters out. If that ditz Huffington could do it, why not Sarah?

Pike is right. A media personality, not a leader. I wouldn't vote for her in 2012 if she does run on the Republican ticket.

However, i might add, the level of highly hypocritical and quite selective misogynist attacks upon her and her daughters in the MSM and Hollywood has been duly noted for a severe lack of class.

After Bush won the elections, Sarah Palin as president is a logical continuation of the political development of the country Smile

Charlie Sheen has millions of followers as does "Sticky-Fingers" Lohan and the former is certainly "vying for power" over Media Moguls, but such is a projection of the entertainment bug that takes no cognizance of reality. One could be a cynic and breathe a sigh of relief that American politics has little to do with democracy (as classically defined), but one has to keep in mind that sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander and if one is to "cook" Sarah over her honking then the same has to be done to those preoccupied over her every word as is dear Ariana and her Huff-and-Puff Post.

Better to worry about those in that peculiar ten-percentile, whose votes are the actual deciders of all elections.

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

H. L. Mencken. "Bayard vs. Lionheart". The Baltimore Sun, 26 July 1920.

That's quite a petard but then it applies as much to the American pseudo-Left as it does to its mirror image on the Right since both are totally divorced from reality and live in the world of caricature.

PS: One thing is sure, old Tom Jefferson's analogy on education and an informed electorate is rendered mulch by today's MSM.

So nominating someone for Vice President is not significant? Does that mean it doesn't matter who is president? What was nominating McCain - a joke? Nominating Bush - a joke that misfired?

Of course everyone will leap on such an obvious target and make what political capital out of it they can, just like the Republicans did out of Clinton's womanising. But it was the right that nominated her and led to the whole ridiculous phenomenon.

Charlie Sheen is a clown. Sarah Palin is a political personality and a clown - a dangerous combination as George W. Bush proved.  Like it or not (I certainly don't), she is a leader.

I think that writing Sarah Palin off as a media celebrity is the easy way out. It ignores the dismaying sociological change that has been going on in the US for the last few decades. As vice-presidential candidate, she won, along with McCain, not exactly a vote magnet himself, something like 45% of the vote in 08. Today, here popularity figures are astoundingly high, considering her intellectual abilities. For those that think her election an absurdity, take a look at George Bush 2nd, a man only a notich or two up the ladder as far as grey matter is concerned. He won the presidency- twice.

I grow tired of these shameless put downs of our elected officials, stating myths as pure fact. Why do we always keep revisiting such nonsense? Oh yeah, i could really lay into Obama right now stating a lot of satire as fact and you wouldn't be none the wiser.

Anyways,  that is an extremely rude way of calling the other half of the US electorate stupid. Kind of akin to the absurd notion that floats about here and there that all Obama voters are socialist commie nincompoops.

To further reiterate, Bush is not stupid, Obama is indeed a US citizen and Palin is a beautiful woman to look at on a television program, but she is in no way qualified to be POTUS at this point in time and as far as i am concerned!

A political clown plays to the lowest common denominator - emotion (instead of reason).  Doesn't mean he or she is stupid.

I like how embarassed republican intellectuals are with her. She's one of them and she manages to garner a lot of popular support, so they can't really dispose of her without seeming elitist and losing votes. Indirectly it's like they're embarassed with their own voters, yet won't risk losing them. Really quite funny.
