T'was neither Great, it went north east, and at times most would fail to recognize the Road.

This "great road" is in Zambia and it takes 3 days to travel from Lusaka to the border of the Congo, and I should know because I bounced my way there.

The road was dirt and in the wet season is mud (I fortunately was not there for this occurrence. It was covered in potholes and they were so big that some passed that category and moved up to a anti-tank ditch.

Between the 3 vehicles we brought we had 45 mechanical failures, of which 25 or so were caused by "The Great North Road". Our four week trip took 6 weeks in stead due to these problems.
