What do you think of the President of the United States serving for one term and the term would be for a length of six years?

Well, either the President would do whatever he wanted to do, because he wouldn't have to worry about re-election, or he would be a lame duck for all 6 years, because nobody (congress) would have to listen to him.  Or some combination of the two.

I don't see any advantage for a single, 6 year term.  I don't understand what you are trying to "fix" by proposing it.

The ancient Greeks believed that it was very important to have unchanging laws, even if they were against you, at least you would know what they were.  There is a story of one polis where if you wanted to propose a new law, you had to do so with your head in a noose, standing on a stool.  If people didn't like your proposal, they would kick the stool out from underneath you, and you would hang, needless to say, in this city-state, they did get many new proposals.

I see a single 6 year term as perhaps better in certain ways, worse in others, but if you are interested in it, make your case.  We won't kick the stool out from underneath you, at least not yet....;)
