The 300 year old mummified remains of a young girl who was a shaman for the Sakha people in the Yakuts region of Siberia. She was found in a very prominent burial mound that none of the local villagers could remember why was so important. It was simply a highly venerated spot for the people, and it took a lot of goodwill to be allowed to excavate. After her examination, it was concluded that she died from tuberculosis, most likely from Russian traders who made their way east.

That is amazing! Especially everything else that had degraded but a strip of blue material. I would have thought she would have been better preserved given the colder climate and what i had assumed to be an area given to a lower humidity? I guess not.

Maybe too much ground water, coupled with poor preperation of the corpse?

Her hair actually looks quite fair... I get the impression she may have been a blond in the world of the living.

But then, perhaps 300 years of death has changed the tint of her hair colour.

I boggles the mind looking at the map how large Russia really is.

Good point, Okamido. Ground water penetration would do it. Also, by appearance of the photo, it looks like the thicker materials and what i can only assume to be leather, might be what had kept her from completely disintegrating completely.
