I'm for this. no offense but when I joined in 07 I did not know why you guys called it allempires... the name was always weird and confusing to me.

As for being the most active history forum, I do not know, but I do know that this is the most interesting of all History forums I have ever been on.

We moved on - and moved into our new home.
- and thank you all for the nice comments in Ako's welcome thread. We are glad you like the change.

The shift
The shift went smoothly - after having prepared everything, the actual shift took less than an hour - a combined effort with an engineer from our server WebWiz, and only a few things needed attention afterwards.

Redirecting
WebWiz took care of redirecting from our old domains and I have tested it thoroughly - ALL links remains intact. I haven't seen one incident of a broken link anywhere.

Ranking
The webcrawlers have detected us, but it takes a huge effort to climb the ranks and we must ask all members to help with that. Spread the word to friends about WorldHistoria, create new threads, participate in discussions, click on our ads, they pay for the servers etc. etc.

The new skin
Some of you had your doubts about a new skin - and I can certainly appreciate your concern.
Now - after the shift, let me show the initial idea behind it.

I was playing with an idea to make a coherent set of skins for all our sites - an image for a main page (for intro) and then individual banners for the sites, but all based on the same concept and colorscheme.
Not necessarily to be used the same way on the different sites, but the same colors used differently.
The first example I came up with proved to be the best - no contestants.

It all originated in a large image - a composition of more images - and by extracting some of the colors from the image, I made the colorbar at the bottom.. the colorscheme I have  used

First example on banner:

Second example on banner:

Third example on banner:

That way there are cohesion between our sites - yet easy identifiable from one another.

The banners are already in use on the library and the archive - however, I don't know when I'll get around to change the colorschemes for those sites - maybe in the next fimbull winter.. Wink
