There is something that I either don´t know about, or it is rare, and I ask why. What I think of is general guidance for those of us who wants to get the right leaders, wether as voters, or for some even can influence what candidates there will be for the future. Politicians are of course no normal "consumer good" and their job are not that ususal, not least since what some of us see as the possitive the opponents will see as the negative. But could there be some general rules of how to chose the political leaders that will satisfy the most? Some sort of "manuals" or "handbooks" not only about the more "technical" aspects, but "thumb-rules" for evaluating both those we tedn to agree with and those we do not.

I don't know any manual or handbook. A combination of instinct and some research helps me to choose my candidate. It is certainly not perfect, but better than nothing. I don't focus on one or two issues and try to see the person from different angles on different issues. Being a good public speaker, having a strong personality that can not be pushed around, and not going back on his/her words are some qualities that I look for when I closely watch a person. There are many more things to consider, too. It might be wrong but I use my personal feeling about the person as well. This feeling can be gained from his/her speeches, actions or background information.
