Hello, and welcome to the Natural History subforum.

The Natural History Forum is a place to discuss any topics centering around the history of the natural world. A major component of the Natural History Forum focuses on the latest news and affairs in the scientific world, where issues are raised in a variety of forms, such as articles and first hand investigations. Furthermore, regular polls regarding opinions on our natural history help to attain good conversation about anything from dangerous snakes to the diversity of ecosystems. For related discussion, visit the Natural Sciences subforum in 'Special Focus'. A niche group of enthusiasts and experts in the area frequently participate in discussions, too. A broad range of natural sciences are covered, split into two main areas:

Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences - biochemistry, genetics, physiology, microbiology, virology, anatomy
Earth and Environmental Sciences - geology, zoology, botany, climatology, paleontology, ecology

The interaction between humans and the environment is a major shaping factor in the development of our world, and has had a major influence on history itself.

Here are some links to archived topics:

Animal names in different languages
Alien Big Cats
History of Animals
New Species Thread

Feel free to visit the archived Natural History subforum to get inspiration and ideas for threads, or to resurrect old threads. Some threads from the old subforum have been copied into the new subforum, here.

For any queries regarding the Natural History subforum, please contact myself via PM. I greatly look forward to exciting discussion, as I am a self-diagnosed Natural History enthusiast!
