...this song is so good i can just about forgive the presence of U2 and Bonehead's resemblance to Lev Davidovich Bronstein ......but that is offset by the appearance of Brian Eno and of course, the mighty Pavarotti....

Today I listened to Maurice Reval's Bolero again for the first time in two years, and it brought a tear to my eye. Truly this is my favourite classical song of all time, a most glorious and magnificent masterpiece. I only hope I am never so fortgetful that I go another two years without hearing it.

Yes, that's a lovely, stirring piece of music. I've always liked it.

For many of us, erm, older folks, though, it reminds us of the movie "10," and Bo Derek's only semi-memorable performance as a hot babe who likes to make love to that very piece of music.

That video's nothing compared to the first single off their new album Liebe ist fuer Alle da, "P*ssy". Wink The video is so NSFW I won't even post a link.

I had heard the various versions of this great song but the video (animation) in this one is really great and may leave anyone with tears in eyes at the end.

Welcome back, KK.

Quote here is an unique jazz guitarist from Africa......

Wow! The cat got chops! I like the music, thanks. And I believe he'll be with Herbie Hancock's project Imagine in Slovakia in July.

Speaking of Africa, I recently bought an album which reflects a very unique, interesting collaboration. Jazz and fusion drummer Jack De Johnette plays with Foday Musa Suso, master kora player from Gambia. I would have never thought how much expression is that instrument capable of!

Have you heard of Zimbabwean singer and guitarists Oliver Mtukudzi? Great music!:)

I am in a rather nostalgic mood for days gone by. So why not indulge a little?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9mJ82x_l-E&feature=av2n

Hey man, nice shot - Filter (Song based on a brutally true event from the late eighties, the public suicide of Budd Dwyer on live tv no less)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WM8bTdBs-cw&feature=av2n

One - Metallica

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hu7n0ccyywY

Troy - Sinead O'conner (If anything, this ought to make Parnell happy, i guess? Seeing that it is a (Bald?) Irish songstress singing about a certain... ahem, cough - cough... tragic fallen ancient city. Just great for history site.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcsVPis1iNs

More than a feeling - Boston

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkADj0TPrJA&feature=av2n

In the air tonight - Phil Collins

Okay, okay. I know we are not that far removed from those days. And yet, still....

Among multiple versions this one of Der Treue Husar:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Quk_lSUKyDk
Spurred by my recent viewing of Paths of Glory, (for what must be approaching 10 times) I was again struck by the incredible ending.  (that is still one of the best films I have ever seen)  Here is a link of that closing scene with the future mrs. kubrick singing:
